Week #14: Pena de Bernal, Tequisquipan, Parque Nacional Iztaccihuatl-Popocatepatl y Cholula

Before starting this post, I thought I'd mention a new blog series that I'm planning to start soon. This blog (Tumbleweed) has focused mostly on capturing our travels to keep friends and family updated on what we've been up to. I try not to go into too much detail but just hit the highlights of our travels. In my next blog venture (please let me know if you have any ideas for blog names - that's always the hardest part!), I plan to go into more detail on a specific topic. The audience is likely to be people who want to do something that I just did or are just generally interested in the topic that I'm writing about. My initial ideas for posts are exploring the wide variety of Mexican breakfasts (exhaustive and all incredibly delicious!), describing how to do the hike that we just did in Parque Nacional Izta-Popo and more general assessment of van travel in Mexico. Week #13: San Miguel de Allende y Queretaro

Wow, we visited only two cities this week! That must either be a sign that we're slowing down in our retirement or that they were very interesting cities. We're approaching our travels with no set itinerary as we don't like feeling as though we have to be somewhere by a certain day. This approach also gives us the flexibility to stay in a particular place longer or leave sooner than planned.     Ginny's been keeping a pretty detailed budget of our spending habits since we hit the road which I thought could be interesting to share.
